
When you need a chic but cozy coat, make yourself
this beauty; perfect for fabrics like cashmere coating
and boiled wool, but also fabulous in brocade, denim
or waxed cotton; tweed or boucle, heavy fleece or ponte;
in faux shearling or fur, real or faux suede, or (p)leather.
Very loose-fit, double breasted, below-knee-length coat has
a center back seam, a deep funnel collar, and full length,
cut-on sleeves with deep cuff bands and side/underarm
panels. Seam pockets and back half-belt are optional;
add topstitching for an elegant finish. Coat closes off-center
with oversize frogs, snaps or buttons; hems have deep facings.
Finish the coat's insides with bound seams, or we've included
instructions on how to draft a lining.
This fabulous piece looks amazing over any outfit, and it's
the perfect top layer for even the chilliest weather; a simple
change of fabrics makes your coat wearable for Spring & Fall too.
Shopping List
Sizes S-M-L will need around 4 yards or 343 cm fabric;
sizes XL & XXL will need 4 1/2 yards or 412 cm fabric.
You'll also need 1 yard/92cm interfacing, 1x1" or 2.5cm
button or snap for the underwrap, 4x large (1.5"/3.75cm
or 2"/5cm diameter) buttons or snaps; you can also use
frogs, toggles or kilt buckle/strap fastenings, you'll still
need four of those!
Add a scrap of lining for the pocket bags, a pair of raglan
shoulder pads and some topstitching thread if you wish.
All fabric allowances are for 60â or 150cm wide fabrics.

Great Coat
i made this coat and I absolutely love it. I did have to go down in size, as it has more than ample room, an of course make the necessary alterations for mu body. But the coat is fantastic.
